The necessity of disinfecting potable water before feeding it into the pipeline network depends mainly on
- the quality of drinking water obtained
- and the condition of the pipework.
Water utilities with supplies of high quality potable water and a high a quality pipeline system may not need to disinfect water. These optimal conditions, however, rarely apply. Whenever one of the two factors before mentioned doesn´t apply, the REDO Water Disinfection is a sensible measure to take.
The REDO Process disinfects water quickly, effectively, is environmentally friendly and is last but not least very cost efficient. REDO ® works – a special system for water disinfection in water utilities - can be used for the treatment of ground-, well- or surface water to produce drinking water.
Overview Water Utilities
To eliminate the potential hazards associated with chlorine gas and to improve the quality of potable water, water utilities opt increasingly for replacing the traditional chlorine gas with innovative disinfection technologies such as the REDO procedure. The main advantages of the use of REDO technology are:
- No safety risks in the production and application of the disinfectant
- No safety risks during transport and storage of hazardous substances
- Avoidance of toxic or carcinogenic disinfection by-products (THMs)
- Prevention of biofilm formation
- Very good depot effect over long distances in pipework

Water utilities are offered two different REDO product solutions: a system installed on premise used for water disinfection before feeding it into the pipeline network and a mobile unit for water disinfection in damaged pipeline networks.
